Have you ever had your faith tested? How did you deal with the situation? How would you advise someone whose faith is being tested? If you are a new believer trying to figure out how to live a life of faith, tests can be overwhelming, but you need to trust God. He will help you. If you have been living a life of faith for a while, you will also be tested at some point. What matters is how you respond to those tests. We all need to keep growing in faith.

Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

Living out your faith should be a way of life. It should not limited to the day of worship. What you do from day-to-day can have an impact on those around you, be it in the home or the workplace. Unfortunately, some people left the faith because of the poor examples they saw in some. Because actions speak louder than words, people tend to follow what they see rather than what they hear.

Christ’s life on this earth was a perfect example of how we ought to live our faith. He believed in the Father. He lived a life of prayer and service. He was always there when needed. He was without prejudice. He reached out to all kinds of people. The heroes of faith listed in Hebrews 11 all demonstrate that it is possible to live a life of faith. They trusted in God, and were willing to do His will. They chose to obey Him no matter what was happening around them.

But without faith, it is impossible to please Him: for He that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6

Daily consecrate your life to God

For one to live a life of faith, they need to surrender their lives daily. Christ  should guide your thoughts. Allow Him to dwell in your heart. Don’t try to fix everything wrong in your life by yourself. Ask God to help you and guide you. The people around you will see a change and be drawn to Him. "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven." Matthew 5:16. People don’t want to hear about faith, they want to see a living faith. Ask the Lord to lead you daily on your walk.

Walk in the light

Choose to surround yourself with good influence. Seek advice from people who live out their faith. This can help you a long way. It is a choice to live out your faith. There is no need to compromise even in difficult situations. If you have seen other people living out their faith, you will stay strong when facing challenges. As a believer, you need to stand for your faith even if it comes with a cost. Believe that the Lord will be with you even in those difficult moments of your life. Nothing should cause you to give up on your faith. "Be still, and know that I am God..." Psalms 46:10. God never fails. He will do what He promised. Be encouraged by the story of Daniel and his three Hebrew friends in Daniel 1 - 4 the next time you are facing fierce tests. Daniel and his friends chose to stand for their faith in Babylon, even though they were facing danger.

Practice gratitude

Being thankful and praising God is one way of living out your faith. When you choose to count the blessings in your life, and focus on the good, it can help you experience joy in Christ, even in difficult situations. It can also help those around you see the benefits of your faith. Keeping a gratitude journal can help you realize the good things happening in your life.

Have a positive attitude

Speak life everywhere you go. Never be tempted to be negative. You might cause those around you to doubt if you are negative. Encourage always!

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11

It is not always easy to be positive, especially when facing life’s challenges, but one should always maintain a positive outlook in life. Allow the Holy Spirit to control you always.

Use your gifts and talents

Everyone has been blessed with gifts and talents. All of them can be used for the glory of the master. Your gifts and talents can be used even outside the Church building. One should not limit their gifts to a building. Christ's ministry was not limited to a building. He reached out to people everywhere. Living out your faith should be a way of life.

I tell you, He will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will He find on earth who have faith? Luke 8:18

Sometimes your faith can be severely tested, even then, stand firm and believe in God. He will never disappoint you. He is all powerful. If He could rescue Daniel and his friends, He can do the same for you. Never stop believing!
