It is true that the world will one day come to an end. Signs are everywhere which point to the second coming of Christ. Each day we hear of heart-breaking stories of natural disasters, famine, pestilences, wars… the list is endless. Pain and suffering is the order of the day, and no one is immune. All these things must come to pass. In Matthew 24:33, Christ says, “So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.” Christ will come again and put an end to all pain and suffering.

No one knows when Christ is coming, “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” Matthew 24:42. The second coming is compared to the days of Noah. In those days people were eating and drinking until Noah entered the ark, and floods came. We need to prepare for His second coming by accepting Him as our personal Lord and Savior. At the same time, we also need to share the good news. Daily, we need to consecrate our lives to Him.

1. Christ’s second coming is climatic

For many years, believers have been looking forward to the blessed hope. This world is full of sorrow and pain. The good news is that Christ will soon bring all suffering to an end. “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4. Our view of suffering changes when we look forward to the blessed hope. “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.” Romans 8:18. We need to watch and pray.

2. Christ’s second coming will be literal

Christ will bring an end to all suffering. His coming will not be a secret. 1 Thessalonians 4:17. Every eye shall see Him. Revelation 1:7. Heaven’s messengers told the disciples that Christ would return the same way He left. Acts 1:9-11. They all saw Him when He ascended to heaven. We will all see Him when He comes back again.

3. Christ's second coming will be visible

He will come in the clouds and every eye shall see Him. Matthew 24:27. Everyone in the world will see Christ when He comes back again. Revelation 1:7.

4. Christ's second coming will be audible

Christ’s second coming will be loud. No-one will say they were not aware of His coming. “For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:” 1 Thessalonians 4:16.

5. Christ's second coming will be glorious

Christ is coming back again as the King of Kings. His second coming will be different from His first coming. The second coming will be a grand event. “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” Matthew 24:30

Jesus is coming back again.
