Daily exercise is good for health. The benefits of exercise can motivate one to start exercising. There are many ways of exercising which might not even look like exercise. If you are unable to get started or even stick to an exercise program, you might need to change something. In this post, I will share a few tips which can help one stay motivated as they exercise.


Getting Started

It is easy to get started with exercise. Getting started with small exercise activities such as walking, gardening, or doing daily household chores can go a long way in helping you stay on track.





Set realistic goals

It is important to set realistic goals for yourself. Never try to compare yourself with other people because that can de-motivate you. If you are happy with the results, it would be good to keep exercising. Even if it takes longer for you see any change, just keep exercising. You can also try different exercise programs you like to keep interested in the program.


Get exercise gear/equipment

The motivation to exercise does not come easy for everyone. If you need more motivation, perhaps getting exercise equipment can motivate you to get started. Whenever you see this equipment, it can remind you of your exercise program.



Exercise with a friend

If you are one person who feels better when exercising with a friend or a group of people, you will need to ask a friend to join you or you can join an exercise group. Exercising with other people will help you stay motivated, because you will not be the only one jogging or hiking. No matter how much I like hiking, I will not do it on my own. I find it better to join a group.


Choose a suitable exercise program 

One of the reasons why people drop out of an exercise program is the level of difficulty. If the chosen exercise program is too difficult, it will be a challenge to stay on track. It is best to choose an exercise program you like doing, and get started. Try different types of exercises so that you do not get bored along the way.


Keep it short

Daily exercise of at least 30 minutes a day is recommended. You can still get the required results if you exercise at least 30 minutes a day. You don’t need to slave for hours to get good results.

Whatever exercise you choose, just keep at it. Do not give up or lose hope when you do not see the results immediately.
